We were the proud title sponsor for TSPE’s (Texas Society of Professional Engineers) 2nd Annual Bowling Tournament held at Bowlmor Houston on October 10, 2019. TSPE is a part of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and has around 6,000 members across all fields of engineering.
Our staff also took the opportunity to have some fun outside of the office, creating two teams to participate in the bowling tournament. Team 1 consisted of Joel Colwell, Suzanna Set, Gerardo Mata, Alan Flores, and Holden McCollum. Team 2 had Tristan Robles, Justin LaPorte, Maheshwor KC, Victor Washington, and Michael Waggoner on the roster. Both teams brought their A-game and Team 1 made it to the podium, placing 3rd overall. Way to go, y’all!
TPSE’s Bowling Tournament is the organization’s fall fundraiser that supports programs like scholarships, MATHCOUNTS, and Future City. Future City is a nationwide program for 6th-8th graders that offers a stimulating engineering challenge with “hands-on” guidance from licensed engineers. MATHCOUNTS is a math skills coaching program with a series of progressive competitions at local, state and national levels that aims to encourage students to excel in Math. Both programs serve to foster and cultivate STEM skill sets and encourage future engineers.
We are proud to support local engineering organizations and promote the growth of our professional community while strengthening personal connections within the industry. And watch out: We’ve already started practicing our bowling skills to take first in next year’s competition.
